Review: Harry Potter and the Chamber of Secrets

This book is, so far, my least favorite in this series. And, to be honest, I really don’t like the movie all that much either. I have my favorite parts, and the rest of it, I really just am not interested in.

To me, I guess it feels like the characters are somewhat immature and not very well written, almost, in this book. I kind of didn’t like Hermione at all. That was THE snobbiest I had ever seen her portrayed, and she just was difficult to appreciate. The others just felt a bit flat to me, compared with how they were written in the first book.

My favorite parts in both the book and the movie, though, are the parts with Moaning Myrtle, and the parts where they are going through the challenges to get into the Chamber. If Wizard’s Chess really existed, I would DEFINITELY make more of an effort to learn how to play.
