It’s Monday! What Are You Reading? #7

Its Monday What Are You Reading GWB

This book meme comes from The Book Date. The idea is that you can share what you have been reading, are reading, and are planning to read, as well as share your link to your post on their blog and find the blog posts of others who have also linked up. A great way to find new bookish blogs.

What I Read Last Week GWB

Before I Fall Lauren Oliver
Before I Fall by Lauren Oliver

I did not love Before I Fall. It was full of snotty, spoiled teens and it’s pretty clear that I was not the intended audience for this book. I gave this book 3/5 stars.

Harry Potter and the Half-Blood Prince by JK Rowling
Harry Potter and the Half-Blood Prince by J.K. Rowling

My review of Harry Potter and the Half-Blood Prince can be found here. I gave this one 3/5 stars as well.

What I'm Reading Now GWB

The Ladys Slipper Deborah Swift
The Lady’s Slipper by Deborah Swift

I am reserving judgment on The Lady’s Slipper until I finish it, so all I’ll say right now is that I’m enjoying it well enough.

IT Stephen King
IT by Stephen King

Still working on IT. Not much to say about it this week…I didn’t get much of it listened to last week. My only goal is to finish it by Halloween…20 hours to go.

Up Next GWB

When Dimple Met Rishi Sandhya Menon
When Dimple Met Rishi by Sandhya Menon

When Dimple Met Rishi is the only book that I know for sure is up next on my list of books to read. It is a library book, so I need to get it finished before it is due back. And I am going to go forward with it in spite of hearing some not so favorable things about it on BookTube. Mostly, the complaint is that the author focused too little on the coding aspect and too much on the romance, and I have a feeling I’m going to agree, but I still really want to get this one read.

  1. I couldn’t get through Before I Fall. I’d read a page and then look to see how many pages I still had to read. After doing this for a couple of days, I decided it was not worth the bother. I’ve liked other books by the author but this one was a miss for me. Come see my week here. Happy reading!

  2. Good luck with IT! Such a massive read. I was hoping to reread it before the movie came out, but I simply didn’t have the time to commit to it!

    1. So far, I’m not that impressed with it, but I think that’s because I’m reading it with a parent’s perspective, and she is so disrespectful to her parents.

I am trying to keep in mind, though, the fact that their culture is not mine, and I have NO idea how I would feel if someone tried to arrange a marriage for me. For all I know, I would react the exact same.
